The Roman Empire was a period of the Ancient Roman Civilisation that came after the Roman Republic that was characterised by their large territory around the Mediterranean Sea and government headed by Emperors. In 27 BC, Augustus established the Roman Empire, which was then on ruled by an absolute emperor. He had control over almost everything. Despite this there were many rebellions and plots.
Roman Army
The Roman Empire was almost always at war. The Roman Army itself was comprised of over half a million men. This was about 30 legions. This army was usually stable but some different generals fought for power over its time. The army was responsible for expansion of The Roman Empire and they invade many places like Britain in AD 43.
