This source is a picture of the slave restraints, the picture being made in 1807, making it harder for the slaves to escape if they chose to do so. This source suggests that slavery was wrong because their right to freedom had been taken away from them illegally, and they have been contained against their will. For example, it shows the restraints being used are stopping them from trying to escape. If they did try and escape, their restraints would be tightened, and the neck spurs make it hard for the slave to rest. This is evidence to support the abolition of slavery because their human rights have been violated and therefore something had to be done about it.

This source suggests that slavery was wrong because that slave was sent to be murdered for no apparent reason, continuously had been beat by clubs by a gang of 200 men. For example, it shows a man going to hit him with what looks like a club and the slave being restrained to prevent him from going anywhere. This is evidence to support the abolition of slavery because it played a part in helping to abolish slavery and therefore it is a significant piece
