Cartography

Cartography is the study and practice of making maps. Accurate mapmaking helped navigators better find locations and measure distances. This advancement in technology affected the Europeans because they were able to sail to unknown lands. It also affected the Native Americans because they were introduced to new people and diseases from travelers overseas.

The Columbian Exchange

The Columbian Exchange influenced technological advances in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The exchange of people, plants, animals, ideas, and technology, began during the colonization of the Americas. This lead to changes for the people in Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Europe. Some animals that had been adopted such as domesticated horses had helped in war and also peace. The Old World invaders came in with a raft of infectious diseases. Some of the negative effects are how The Old World invaders brought infectious diseases to the New World.

The Scientific Revolution

The scientific revolution was when developments in mathematics, physics, astronomy, biology and chemistry transformed previous views of society and nature. This was a period of great inventions and scientific discoveries and advancements. Advancements in science came from some inventions like the telescope, the compass, printing, and Heliocentric Theory. The Scientific revolution began the beliefs of using logic & reason instead of blind faith. It caused Scientists to began questioning authority and teachings of the Catholic Church.
