The M16A1 Rifle

In service 1964 to present. This rifle was deployed for jungle warfare operations during the Vietnam War replacing the m14 rifle. There has been about 8 million manufactured so far. And here we have brave soldiers, including Tom Hanks patrolling the swamps and jungles with different variants of the M16A1 rifle.

the M14 Standard Issue

In service from 1959, the M1 Garand now serves as a ceremonial weapon by honor guards and drill teams. 1.3 million units have been manufactured. Above is Tom Hanks yet again, this time disassembling his m14 rifle in record company time, while conversing with bubba about shrimping business.

The Colt m1911

The Colt m1911a1 standard U.S. military sidearm was service from 1911 to 1983 and was serviced throughout the Vietnam war. 2.7 million of these have been made so far, and is still a popular choice even today, in some units of the U.S. Army. Above is Tom Hanks, servicing the m1911, in WWII, where as he defended a bridge against the Nazis down to his trusty side arm.

Napalm

Created by scientists in a secret lab as a synthetic rubber alternative but soon became the fuel composite for a devastating weapon.
This was used as fuel for flamethrowers and in incendiary bombs. 388,000 tons of U.S. napalm bombs were dropped, in Vietnam, between 1963 and 1973.

In the image, soldiers pull back from a position as napalm is dropped to slow the enemy.

USS NEw Jersey (BB-62)

Launched on the 1st year anniversary of Pearl Harbor (7 December 1942) The USS New Jersey would see action in the Vietnam war firing over 20,000 shells total and obtaining 19 battle stars being recognized as the most decorated battleship in the US Navy's history.

The Chicago museum of Art Each of the hanging dog tags represents a life lost in the vietnam war. There are over 58,000 dog tags in this picture. The M-60 Machine Gun

In service from: 1957–present the m-60 machine gun
was the most popular weapon amongst infantry along
side the m1 Garand and M16 assault rifles. It was gas operated, belt fed, had a rapid 500 - 650 RPM, a muzzle velocity of 1,800 fps, and an accuracy at 1200 yds. It is still in service to this day. Above we have an actual representation of what it feels like to shoot a weapon of this magnitude and firepower. Look at that, this picture screams America.

The Bell UH-1 Iroquois (this tool is not allowing a title for some reason)

Produced from 1956 - 1987, of about 16,000 units
manufactured, 7,000 served in the Vietnam war
mainly for medevac and general utility purposes.

Above is the model of a Huey helicopter
being pushed off the deck of a ship to make
room for more aircraft carrying persons evacuating Saigon. The U.S. Marine helicopters
swooped down to the U.S. Embassy and the roof of a nearby CIA safe house to rescue the last 1,000 Americans in the city and some 6,000 Vietnamese and their families who worked for them during the near end of the Vietnam War.
