The Cold War started in 1947. It was the tension over geopolitical between the Soviets and the U.S. The U.S had it's allies and the Soviets had their satellite countries.

The Bay of Pigs is an inlet of the Gulf of Cazones. The U.S planned on attacking former president of Cuba from his house. The Bay of Pigs was one of the biggest fails in history.
Cuban missile crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis had many names such as October Crisis of 1962, the Caribbean Crisis, and the Missile Scare. It was the confrontation between the U.S and the Soviets initiated by American ballistic missile deployment in Italy and Turkey pointing at the Soviets. The Cuban Missile Crisis lasted 12 days.
Fidel Castro
Fidel Castro was the dictator/president of Cuba during the cold war. Fidel Castro overthrew the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. Fidel Castro and the leader of the Soviets were friends.
Election of 1960
The election of 1960 was between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon. John F. Kennedy won the election. This election was important because John F. Kennedy made the right decisions for the Cold War.
Nikita Khrushchev
Khrushchev was the leader of the Soviets during the Cold war. He was also the first secretary of the communists party. He died on September 11th, 1971.

John F. Kennedy was an important piece of the cold war. He was the leader of the U.S during the cold war. He helped make the right decisions for the U.S.
Alan Shepard
Alan Shepard was the first American astronaut to travel into space. The U.S sent Alan Shepard to space in reaction to Russia launching Sputnik 1. This occurred during the cold war.
Yuri Gagarin
Yuri Gagarin was the first person in space in general. He went to space during the cold war. The Soviets sent him to give the U.S a challenge. He is very Russian.
the iron curtain
The Iron Curtain was a non-physical boundary dividing Europe into two. It was divided in 1945 and the division ended in 1991. Europe was divided into the western and eastern bloc because of the iron curtain.
