What is the Stolen Generation?
The stolen Generation began in 1910-1970 in New South Wales.
At that time the Australian federal and State Government made the policy of assimilation.
Assimilation policy is where the government was taking Aboriginal children from their families and forcing them into  white European society.
The assimilation policy was created with the intention of destroying the aboriginal identity and culture.
Aboriginal children were forcibly removed from their families by police/government officials and placed in foster homes.
Other things that occurred were town curfews, alcohol bans, no social security, lower wages, State guardianship of all Aboriginal children.
